Job Summary

Maintain adequate supplies, process patients using Labdaq, and perform venipuncture, arterial, and capillary punctures on teens, adults, handicapped, and elderly individuals. Properly identify and label specimens, assist donors before, during, and after donation, and process urine and drug screen collections. Clean and sterilize equipment and work areas following infection control procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality. Inventory supplies, place orders, and enter data into electronic medical records. Demonstrate current phlebotomy competencies, respond calmly to stressful situations, and work cooperatively as part of the office team. CCMA certification is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Must possess CCMA certification, or willing to get CCMA certification within first 90 days of employment
  • Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques
  • Knowledge of clinic protocols and policies
  • Knowledge of clinic/medical practice procedures
  • Must be skilled in customer service and have a pleasant and courteous demeanor
  • Must be able to respond to stressful or emergency situations in a calm and effective manner
  • Must have the ability to work cooperatively as a member of office staff and team
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies and equipment
  • Standing six to eight hours per day, walking, bending, and reaching

Desired Qualifications

  • CCMA certification preferred
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records data entry
