Job Summary
Per Diem Lab Associate III Microbiology performs duties in support of analyzing laboratory quality control and patient specimens, operates and maintains analyzers for waived and moderate complexity testing, handles and processes specimens, distributes reports, and adheres to local/state/federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety in patient care. Requires HS diploma and 2 years of relevant experience; duties include workflow management, critical thinking, and collaboration in a clinical laboratory environment; shift is nights with a per-diem/casual schedule (Monday–Friday, rotating weekends).
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- 2 years recent relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory testing principles and handling of biological specimens
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers performing waived and moderate complexity testing
- Ability to process and prepare specimens and manage reports
- Knowledge of local/state/federal regulations and procedures for patient privacy and safety
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work collaboratively in a laboratory setting
- Ability to organize tasks and respond to fluctuations in volume
- Shift: Nights; Schedule: Per Diem/Casual; 8-hour shifts; Monday-Friday with rotating weekends
