Job Summary
Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heel stick); labels specimens and routes them to the appropriate department or testing facility; identifies patients using two identifiers; prioritizes STAT, Routine, ASAP; maintains lab records and logs; assists in training new associates; may act as Team Lead or Trainer; handles complex specimen setup, orders/results processing, and shipping infectious materials; participates in special projects such as research, continuous improvement, and product evaluations; supports patient registration and reception within the lab; ensures equipment and supplies are maintained and inventories controlled; requires high school diploma or equivalent with phlebotomy experience; part-time shifts include days, evenings, and nights; location Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- six months of phlebotomy experience or training or national certification preferred
- demonstrated experience as a Lab Assistant in a healthcare system
