Job Summary
Draw quality blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for lab testing, and complete clerical duties to maintain department efficiency. Perform order entry, result look-up, report generation, and answer internal/external calls while greeting patients and the community respectfully. Collect specimens according to established procedures, ensure proper processing, and accurately identify patients to match them with correct services. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as requested by test orders, check inventory, and stock supplies as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly in a fast-paced environment. Evening shift with scheduled weekly hours of 0.01.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
- Position requires travel to off-site locations
Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
- One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
- Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred
