Job Summary
Lab Assistant at Labcorp in Troy, MI performing receive/sort of clinical lab specimens, prepare samples for testing, data entry of specimen/patient information, and basic instrument maintenance. Responsible for ensuring equipment functionality, troubleshooting specimen-related issues, replenishing test bench supplies, maintaining a clean/safe work environment, completing record logs, and following SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; 1+ years of medical or lab experience preferred; must be comfortable handling biological specimens, possess basic computer/data entry skills, maintain attention to detail, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced production setting with overtime flexibility. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 or more years of medical or lab experience (preferred)
- Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
