Job Summary
Conduct general laboratory services including specimen collection, blood component preparation, and pre-analytic processing of specimens. Perform waived testing, identified moderate complexity testing, and related clerical tasks, while managing patient and specimen registration and delivery. Complete initial and six-month competency training for identified testing, followed by annual assessments, and utilize phlebotomy training and computer/telephone skills. Execute repetitive tasks for prolonged periods and may serve on department committees. Work full-time day shifts from 9am to 5:30pm at the Cancer Care Center.
Required Qualifications
- HS grad or GED Equivalent
- successfully completion of an initial and six (6) month competency for identified testing
- successfully completion an annual competency assessment for identified testing
- working knowledge of computers
- telephone skills
- ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program with experience in laboratory or coursework in biological, chemical or related science
- Experience in waived or moderate complexity
