Job Summary
Collect specimens from pneumatic tubes or delivery personnel, verifying transmittals, labels, and patient information before sorting, processing, and distributing samples according to established procedures. Process time-sensitive stats and specimens, order sun-coded tests via Epic and L.I.S., and label samples with barcode labels for delivery. Investigate and troubleshoot basic specimen problems, document issues on forms, and notify supervisors while following up to ensure timely responses. Maintain L.I.S. peripheral devices, manage printer supplies, restock CPA materials, and answer telephones to provide accurate information and direct calls professionally.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Some Science courses
- Previous medical/laboratory experience
- Knowledge of typing
