Job Summary
Lab Assistant I in the Neuro department supports clerical and ancillary duties, ensures equipment readiness, prepares reagents, and maintains inventory for patient output. Responsibilities include staining, dehydration, coverslipping of slides, loading/unloading stainers, equipment cleaning and maintenance, accurate record-keeping of documents, specimens and slides, ensuring correct patient labeling, matching case accession numbers, labeling and storage logistics, labware cleaning, inventory management, hazardous/medical waste handling, reagent preparation and aliquoting, specimen storage and send-out coordination, and accurate data entry into the laboratory information system. Requires strong communication, organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, schedule flexibility, manual dexterity, and the ability to work independently and in a team; EHS considerations and potential for overtime are noted.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in biological sciences is a plus.
