Lab Assistant- Histology/Full-Time/Days/Rosemont

Lab Assistant handling histology tasks and patient/specimen processing in a full-time day shift role. Responsibilities include receiving and sorting specimens, labeling and tracking specimens for transport, preparing specimens for testing under CLIA guidelines, entering and verifying test requests in the laboratory computer system, notifying providers of stat/critical results, performing preventative maintenance, running quality control checks, and training new staff. The role requires basic computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, strong communication, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while interfacing with physicians, patients, and healthcare staff. The position is based in Rosemont, IL with a 40-hour work week and rotating Saturdays every 3 months; Sundays are not worked. Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and typically 3 years of related laboratory experience.
