Job Summary
Maintain laboratory glassware by washing, rinsing, drying, and storing materials while cleaning and disinfecting workstations to support a safe environment. Prepare, label, sterilize, and organize supplies, tubes, and equipment, then assist with specimen storage, sample banking, retrieval, and post-analysis processes. Manage laboratory inventory and supply organization while maintaining accurate workflow support. Perform routine equipment maintenance and simple buffer preparation, adhering to safety, quality, regulatory, and 6S requirements. Work Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of experience at a regulated lab environment
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, standard precautions, and hazardous chemical handling
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, terminology, sterilization, decontamination procedures, and hazardous waste management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and support laboratory workflow
- Basic computer skills with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Knowledge of safe exposure practices related to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens
- Commitment to continuous learning, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing and walking
- Occasional sitting
- Close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints)
- Occasional exposure to cold temperatures
- Associate Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
