Job Summary
Process blood samples and other laboratory specimens using skillful venipuncture techniques, including ECGs, Holter hookups, and urine or drug collections. Accurately enter requisitions and results for Ministry of Health while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to strict SOPs. Provide compassionate customer service to anxious patients during sample collection, ensuring all documentation is complete before transporting specimens to the lab. This full-time, 18-month contract includes day shifts (7:00 am – 4:30 pm) across multiple locations in Orangeville, Richmond Hill, Woodbridge, and Keswick. Required Qualifications
- Secondary School
- Laboratory Assistant training program
- Medical Lab Assistance course
- specialized training in phlebotomy
- customer-focused with a genuine care for patient's health
- skill in phlebotomy
- ability to manage anxious patients through the sample obtaining process in a pleasant, calming and reassuring manner
- Prioritize and self-manage within a deadline-oriented environment
- Be extremely detail oriented
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, at a level that enables you to communicate instructions, clearly and understandably, to patients
