Job Summary
Receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare samples for testing, and scan or data entry patient information. Maintain equipment functionality through minor instrumentation maintenance, troubleshoot specimen issues, and replenish bench supplies. Ensure a clean environment, complete record logs, and strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures for safety and quality. This role requires working Tuesday through Saturday from 12:30am to 9:00am with rotating weekends. Candidates must handle biological specimens independently in a fast-paced production environment while meeting established turn-around times.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Tuesday - Saturday 12:30am - 9:00am (rotating weekends)
Desired Qualifications
- 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
- 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience
