Job Summary
Register and bill specimens, perform venipuncture, and manage specimen receipt and distribution. Conduct phlebotomy duties as assigned and execute waived testing. Assist in Microbiology processing and plating specimens when requested. Requires one year of laboratory experience and/or formal phlebotomy training, plus completion of a phlebotomy training program or national certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT, or similar. Phlebotomy certification is required where state law mandates. High school diploma or equivalent is necessary. Strong written and oral communication skills with all organizational levels are essential.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of laboratory experience
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy training
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy Certification where State law requires
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience
- Completion of Phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
