Job Summary
Collect, prepare, and process diverse patient specimens including blood, urine, and tissue for various diagnostic tests using advanced technology. Maintain meticulous attention to detail while adhering to aseptic technique and laboratory procedures. Ensure all specimen handling and blood collection techniques meet CAP required competency assessment and organizational standards. This role requires California CPT-1 or CPT-2 certification and one year of experience as a Lab Assistant or phlebotomist in an acute care hospital. Located at Dignity Health - Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California, the team serves over 100,000 patients annually across a 377-bed facility featuring a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory terminology, aseptic technique, laboratory tests and specimen handling and blood collection techniques as demonstrated by CAP required competency assessment and organizational requirements.
- California CPT-1 or CPT-2 certification or other California state certification permitting phlebotomy.
Desired Qualifications
- Lab Assistant/phlebotomist in an acute care hospital.
- One (1) year experience preferred.
