Lab Assistant - Blood Bank (Per diem)

Lab Assistant - Blood Bank (Per diem) is responsible for receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing specimens for testing, data entry of specimen and patient information, ensuring equipment functionality and performing minor maintenance, troubleshooting specimen-related issues, replenishing test bench supplies, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, completing record logs and administrative duties, and adhering to SOPs to ensure safety and quality. The role operates in a high-volume production-based environment with a PRN/as-needed schedule, including possible 3rd shift availability (Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday). Preferred qualifications include 1+ year of medical/clinical/lab experience, experience with Cerner, and background as a medical assistant, phlebotomist, or lab assistant. Additional requirements include comfortable handling biological specimens, basic computer/data entry skills, high attention to detail, ability to sit/stand for extended periods, and passing a color blindness test.
