Job Summary
Analyze samples to quantify chemical composition in accordance with NELAC, SC DES, and EPA standards, including microbiology, chemical oxygen demand, and specific conductivity. Prepare standards and quality control samples, document all work in laboratory notebooks and software, and perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance. Maintain accreditation by running and reporting bi-annual audit samples, completing MDL studies, and ensuring all methods follow SOPs. Edit and review documents to verify procedures meet certification requirements. Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field, one to three years of laboratory experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Pay rate is $20/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field is preferred
- 1-3+ years in a laboratory setting
- Familiarity with various sample methods
- General knowledge of chemistry and lab analysis operations and lab safety
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including MS Word and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and appearance; ability to serve as a representative of the company
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read, count, and write, to accurately complete all documentation
- Use of applicable Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory
