Lab Analyst

Job Summary
Conduct analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances for product and process application, including quantitative and qualitative testing of wastewater, hazardous waste, and chemical samples. Perform quality assurance duties, method development, and non-routine analytical assignments while troubleshooting laboratory instruments and equipment. Complete daily safety and analytical inspections of both the Laboratory and Production Units, ensuring compliance with SOPs and HS&E policies. Provide analytical support to plant personnel and lead department safety meetings. This 12-hour rotating day shift position requires a Bachelor of Science in a science or technical field, one year of chemical process industry experience, and TWIC credentials.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years in chemical process industry with a background emphasis in laboratory environment and analytical procedures
- Bachelor of Science in science or technical related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Transportation Worker's Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- Knowledge of ion chromatography, wet chemistry techniques, ICP and wastewater analyses
- Ability related to lifting and carrying testing equipment to test locations within Production Unit
- Ability to communicate with all levels of plant personnel
- Ability to multi-task and manage work and assignments in a matrix-type environment
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to facilitate interactions with co-workers and plant personnel in a team-based environment
- Good written and oral presentation skills and leadership qualities
- 12-hour rotating shift
