Lab Accessioning Technician

Receive and verify pathology specimens and accompanying documentation, reviewing paperwork for completeness and identifying discrepancies. Enter critical patient and specimen information into the laboratory information system, ensuring all documentation is accurate before specimens move through the process. Prepare slides, cassettes, and related documentation for the histology team while maintaining accession logs, manifests, and laboratory records. File and archive slides and tissue blocks, tracking outgoing and incoming requests. Communicate specimen issues to laboratory staff and collaborate with endoscopy and laboratory personnel. Follow laboratory safety procedures and HIPAA requirements. Support accurate and timely diagnoses within the Gastroenterology Pathology Laboratory in Raleigh, NC.
