Job Summary
CCPS seeks qualified Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for La Plata High School flag football to lead and support education-based athletics. Responsibilities include managing the program across varsity/JV/freshman levels, instruction, supervision, equipment management, and budget requests; conducting mandatory pre-season meetings with athletes and families; ensuring only cleared athletes participate in tryouts and maintaining team records and awards; and upholding safety and sportsmanship standards. Requirements include certified teachers or professional educators, MSDE COMAR 13A.12.01 certification, MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification, and two years of emergency coaching experience (including one year at the hiring school). Environmental factors include physical abilities to perform coaching duties and equipment handling.
Required Qualifications
- Certified teachers or professional educators employed by a local Board of Education
- Individuals certified by MSDE under COMAR 13A.12.01
- Credentialed coaches who are eligible for a Maryland certificate under COMAR 13A.12.01
- Hold MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification
- Have two years of successful emergency coaching experience
- Have one year of successful emergency coaching experience at the hiring school in the position applied for
