Job Summary
City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City, providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative direction in accordance with the City Charter and policies. Oversees daily city administration, including budget development and fiscal stewardship, organizational planning, policy implementation, and interdepartmental coordination. Leads department leadership to achieve operational excellence, ensures compliance with laws and contracts, and represents the City in negotiations, public meetings, and intergovernmental initiatives. Responsibilities include advising the City Council with recommendations and reports, fostering accountability and public service, promoting long-range planning and sustainable growth, and engaging with elected officials, staff, residents, businesses, and external agencies. Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or closely related field and at least 10 years of municipal management experience; a Master’s degree is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or a closely related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible municipal management experience, including experience as a City Manager, Assistant City Manager, or in a comparable executive leadership role
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
