LA - Buyer - Industrial Distribution

Buyer to handle procurement and inventories within the Industrial Fluid Process Distribution business unit located in Baton Rouge, LA. Essential functions include executing procurement processes to maximize on-time delivery while maintaining optimal inventory levels; maintaining ERP inventory master and warehouse records; communicating with suppliers and executing supply-chain management per SunSource’s Best Practices; processing supplier returns and credits for defective/obsolete/excess materials; proactively managing excess and obsolete material; serving as a conduit for communications between SunSource and suppliers; scheduling and organizing supplier cadence and escalation meetings; engaging in ongoing training to obtain and refresh skills. Desired skills include inventory or purchasing experience in manufacturing or distribution, 1–3 years in fluid process related industries preferred, ability to handle multiple projects, strong written and oral communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook); the role involves sitting most of the workday with occasional walking/standing.
