Job Summary
L1 Operator position at the Durban plant under UPL, focusing on formulation of processes per BOM procedures, safe handling of hazardous and flammable materials, and achieving production targets. Responsibilities include operating a non-pressurised vessel on analogue controls, supervising Packing Assistants, optimizing process efficiencies (OEE, CCP, RFT, yields, inventory accuracy), troubleshooting with the Team Leader or Maintenance, ensuring SHEQ and 5S adherence, carrying out sampling and material requests, operating a semi-automated filling machine with correct labelling, forklift operation by licensed personnel, and maintaining accurate production data. Requires Matric, on-the-job training, and at least 3 years of plant operations experience; strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and safety-focused mindset.
