Job Summary
London-based? No — Los Angeles-based senior Labor & Employment Counseling Associate to advise employers on a broad range of workplace matters. The successful candidate will partner with HR professionals, in-house counsel, and business leaders to provide practical, strategic, and compliance-focused guidance. The role emphasizes counseling on wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, employee relations, workforce reductions/restructurings, discipline and terminations, personnel policies, and employment-related agreements, with a focus on drafting and implementing compliant policies and conducting workplace audits and internal investigations.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California
- 7–10 years of experience counseling California, national, and multinational employers on employment law matters
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and implementing employee handbooks, workplace policies, employment-related agreements, and other compliance-related documents
- Experience conducting workplace audits, internal investigations, management training, and risk assessments
- Strong judgment, research and client-service skills, and ability to build relationships with HR stakeholders
- Ability to deliver practical, legally sound compliance strategies aligned with clients' business goals
