Job Summary
KYC Specialist role across three streams focused on onboarding and due diligence for new customers, including businesses, trusts, and other complex entities. Responsibilities include guiding customers through onboarding, verifying documentation, assessing risk, conducting enhanced due diligence, monitoring broker-originated and digital onboarding, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliant, customer-focused onboarding experiences. Emphasis on working with diverse and vulnerable customer groups using digital tools, with flexible, supportive Westpac NZ culture and a fixed-term assignment through May 2027. Locations include Tauranga Regional Office and Westpac on Takutai Square, Auckland; both operating in-person in New Zealand.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in KYC, onboarding, or AML roles
- Experience onboarding business customers or complex entities
- Strong knowledge of NZ AML/CFT regulations, obligations for legal entities
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Experience with digital identity verification and broker channels
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
