Job Summary
Remote Medical Interpreter role focusing on Kurdish-English interpretation within healthcare/medical contexts. Fully remote contractor position with internal training to certify as a Medical Interpreter, collaboration with Team Leader, ongoing quality sessions, and potential location-based testing/background checks. Responsibilities include handling interpretation calls professionally, mastering healthcare vocabulary via provided training, and contributing to a supportive team environment; you’ll work from a home office with required tech setup (wired internet, USB headset) and complete internal professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Near-native fluency in English and Kurdish (90%+ in English)
- Minimum 2 years interpretation experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare/medical interpretation
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to ensure 100% accuracy
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to explain concepts to prevent miscommunication
- Steady wired internet connection
- USB wired headset
- PC/Laptop with Windows 10 or Mac
- Quiet, secure, distraction-free workspace
- Ability to follow interpreter’s code of conduct
- Location-based language testing and background checks may be required
