Job Summary
Kubernetes Platform Owner – Engineering Manager leads a distributed engineering team to shape Fidelity’s internal developer platform on AWS EKS. You will define and refine the product vision, own the platform roadmap, and prioritize work using developer feedback, surveys, and metrics, while collaborating with security, data, product, and infrastructure teams. Responsibilities include delivering secure, automated self-service capabilities, reviewing architectures for security and scalability, contributing to design reviews, and driving engineering standards across global teams. You will work with an enablement group to improve developer experience, engage with AWS/Azure platform owners, and guide architectural direction for scaling Kubernetes-based platforms. Strong Kubernetes expertise, a software engineering background, and experience leading software teams are essential, as is a practical leadership style that supports agile Kanban delivery and open communication in English.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem
- Strong software engineering background with hands-on cloud technologies
- Experience leading software engineering teams
- Experience designing and operating Continuous Delivery pipelines
- Familiarity with Extreme Programming practices, including pairing
- Strong object-oriented programming skills
- Ability to lead technical direction and make architectural decisions
- Ability to manage and develop engineers and shape team culture
- Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
