Job Summary
KTRK-TV seeks a collaborative and competitive reporter for general assignment news coverage, responsible for developing, shooting, writing, editing, and reporting high-quality stories across multiple platforms. Ideal candidates must excel in editorial skills, possess at least 2 years of experience in major market television news, and demonstrate adaptability to various shifts, including nights and weekends. The reporter should be a master storyteller with the ability to use data effectively, willing to experiment with new technology, and engage with the community through ethical and compelling journalism.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-year major market television news experience
- Excellent editorial, writing, shooting, editing and on-air presentation skills
- Live reporting & ad lib expertise
- Ability to work under deadline and multi-task
- Strong presence on social media
- Flexibility with working hours including late nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Background check clearance and clean driving record

- Degree in Journalism or related field
