Job Summary
Provide attentive, loving care for a 10-month-old infant and a 5-year-old attending Upper West Side school, managing their daily routines, activities, and educational development. Plan outings, facilitate play, and handle occasional school pickups while maintaining structure and boundaries in a semi-formal SoHo household. Support the children's growth through reading, crafts, and neighborhood exploration, partnering with parents who both work full-time. First Aid and CPR certified, non-smoker, and must be comfortable carrying an active infant and navigating stairs. Salary $55+/hour with health insurance reimbursement, vacation time, and sick days.
Required Qualifications
- Substantial experience caring for multiple children, ideally including infants and school-aged children
- Highly reliable and understands the importance of consistent attendance
- Comfortable carrying a growing baby
- Can navigate four flights of stairs with an active infant
- Creative and enjoys crafts, reading, imaginative play, and developmental activities
- Proactive and naturally takes initiative rather than waiting to be directed
- Can provide structure and age-appropriate boundaries
- Emotionally mature and confident
- Warm and engaging while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Comfortable working in a semi-formal/formal household
- Can serve as a positive role model for the children
- Has a genuine interest in children's growth and development
