Job Summary
Korean Language Instructor role-part time supporting LEAP/AFCLC programs. Responsibilities include administering eMentor curricula, preparing instructional aids and open-source materials, operating UCC platform tools for live sessions, delivering instruction aligned with lesson objectives (focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing across ILR levels 0-3+), providing one-on-one feedback and assessments, monitoring attendance, and coordinating OnDemand scheduling within LEaDeR. Requires native-like or superior proficiency in target language(s) per ILR/ACTFL, a bachelor’s degree in language instruction or related social science, and ability to deliver instruction across proficiency levels. Extensive knowledge of instructional design, language-teaching techniques, multimedia design, and educational technology, plus background clearance. Location options include Maxwell AFB, AL (in-person) and Remote US (virtual). Travel not required.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess language skills in the target language(s) equivalent to ILR Advanced Professional Proficiency or Superior in speaking and writing for each language/dialect
- Bachelor’s level degree in language instruction or related social science field (e.g., History, Political Science, International Relations, Anthropology, Archeology, Cultural Geography) or minimum of five years of embedded experience in the target culture(s)
- Ability to deliver instruction and assessments across ILR 0-3+ levels
- Extensive global regional expertise
- Extensive knowledge of foreign language teaching techniques and instructional systems
- Extensive knowledge of learning theory and educational psychology
- Extensive knowledge of instructional design practices and curriculum development
- Extensive knowledge of standardized, web-based interactive course delivery systems
- Extensive expertise in instructor facilitation and faculty development
- Extensive knowledge of using computers in education and training
- Demonstrated knowledge of multimedia design and delivery methods (e.g., embedded video instruction)
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Adobe Acrobat Professional)
- Clearance: ability to pass a background check
- Location flexibility to accommodate remote and on-base instruction
