Job Summary
Provide learning experiences in language arts, social studies, reading, math, science, art, music, and physical education to mid-school students using state-adopted curriculum. Instruct pupils in citizenship and communication skills while developing instructional materials for diverse mental, physical, and emotional maturities. Deliver individual and group instruction to meet specific student needs, establish behavior standards, and communicate regularly with parents through conferences, notes, and calls. Identify pupil needs, cooperate with staff to solve health and learning problems, and maintain professional competence through required in-service activities. Perform supervisory duties, manage classroom and school activities, and participate in faculty committees and school-sponsored events.
Required Qualifications
- New Mexico Teaching License in either Elementary or Secondary Education
- Bachelor's Degree, including all courses needed to meet licensure requirements
- Passage of Required State Licensure Testing
- Passage of the New Mexico Assessment of Teacher Competency in Elementary Education or Secondary Education
- Passage of New Mexico Content Knowledge Assessment in area of specialty taught
- Endorsement or license in the area of specialty taught
- Valid Driver's License
- Evidence of Leadership Ability
- Demonstrate Communication Skills
- Demonstrate Public Relations Skills
- Must complete a finger-print background check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the Related Field
- Familiarity and Experience with Data Driven Instructional Practices and Professional Learning Communities
- Experience using Power Teacher
