Job Summary
Kitchen Workers assist in the daily operations of the camp food service program, including setting up and serving food, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are followed. Responsibilities include storing food at proper temperatures, cleaning dish and food preparation areas, and assisting in food preparation while following health code procedures. Candidates should be able to work as part of a team, comply with safety regulations, and meet physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods. The position requires a California Food Handlers Certificate and successful completion of a background check.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years of age
- California Food Handlers Certificate
- Knowledge of basic food handling safety standards
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, pull and carry objects such as chairs, dish racks, tables, etc.
Additional Requirements
- Background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures
- Employment is contingent upon passing background check
- Must take protect the mission training
