Job Summary
Kitchen Staff Substitute role performing essential kitchen tasks on an as-needed basis in a Midwest Opaa! Food Management, Inc. operation. Responsibilities include setting up serving lines, preparing foods per menu plans and recipes, operating equipment with certification, maintaining FIFO inventory, stocking and cleaning kitchen and dishwashing areas, preparing baked goods, batch cooking for quality and presentation, setting up serving lines, and assisting with cashier duties. Emphasis on food safety (HACCP/CACFP), following recipes, maintaining temperatures, and upholding Opaa!’s core values and timekeeping procedures. Requires ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment (slicer, mixer, oven, steamer/kettle, dishwasher) and to work in a fast-paced food-service environment; Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; availability on an as-needed basis for part-time shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- ability to operate kitchen equipment (slicer, mixer, grinder, oven, etc.) with proper certification
- strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP/CACFP regulations
- ability to follow menu plans and recipes
- excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
