Job Summary
Prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings and assist with serving lines. Participate in occasional catering functions. Perform all positions within the kitchen. Operate equipment (slicers, mixers, grinders, ovens, etc.) with proper certification, follow menu plans and HACCP procedures, and maintain FIFO inventory. Maintain clean work areas, assist with food prep, set up serving lines, present items to customers, and support dining operations. Maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and timekeeping policies; demonstrate core values and teamwork in a fast-paced school-cafeteria/kitchen environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one-month related experience/training/education
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform physical tasks for extended periods; frequent lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional up to 60 pounds
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards and FIFO procedures
- Experience operating kitchen equipment (slicers, mixers, grinders, ovens, fryers)
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and menu plans
- Attention to cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety procedures
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills
- Basic math and cash handling abilities for POS and meal reconciliation
- Ability to learn and adhere to timekeeping and reporting procedures (e.g., ADP)
