Job Summary
Assist in implementing the camp's food service program by supporting the Head Cook, guiding additional support staff, and following the approved menu plan. Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, operating kitchen equipment safely, and ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas. Candidates should be a good example for youth, able to work under pressure, and willing to perform general camp duties when necessary. Current CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers certifications are required or must be obtained before the camp season.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- A good example for youth
- Ability to work under pressure in time constraints
- Must be able to lift/unload/move food and supplies
- Willingness to pitch in with other general camp duties when needed, like moving luggage and cleaning areas other than the kitchen and dining hall
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred previous experience cooking or in the food industry
- Current CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers required or willingness to obtain prior to camp season
