Job Summary
Oversee the entire kitchen operation, including staffing, food safety, sanitation, and execution standards through proper hiring, training, and spot-checking. Create fair staff schedules, screen applicants for legal compliance, and partner with management to control labor, food, and waste costs. Supervise food temperatures, enforce FIFO policies, and ensure opening/closing checklists are completed. Jump in to assist kitchen or front-of-house staff when needed. Work fluctuating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Maintain ServeSafe certification and ensure all staff hold current Food Handler's Cards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years recent experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation and ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
- Professional communication, good organization, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
- ServeSafe Certification maintained in good standing
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
