Job Summary

Executive-level Kitchen Manager role at Purdue University Northwest overseeing The Pride Café and Alumni Hall Banquet operations. Responsible for leading kitchen staff, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation of food, coordinating with the Kitchen Supervisor, and maintaining high service standards across daily kitchen activities and events. Performs menu execution, food safety and sanitation compliance, and supports on-campus events and catering production, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requires strong leadership, team supervision, event planning and coordination, inventory management, vendor coordination, and the ability to manage multiple banquet and café operations, including occasional travel to Westville and Valparaiso campuses as needed. Must meet background checks and possess a valid driver’s license for campus catering vehicle; culinary experience and ServSafe or equivalent certification are preferred. Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Culinary school preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in professional kitchen
  • Valid Driver’s License for campus catering vehicle
  • Food Safety certificate (ServSafe or equivalent)
  • Experience with menu management systems preferred
  • Experience in catering/banquet operations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25-60 lbs
  • Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, holidays
