Job Summary
Kitchen Manager to coordinate and supervise George's kitchen staff in a high-volume restaurant and catering setting, ensuring food safety standards, hiring and training cooks, scheduling shifts, performing quality control on dishes, and ordering inventory to meet demand. Responsibilities include managing kitchen inventory and food preparation, developing and maintaining the menu with ownership, maintaining sanitation and health-code compliance, organizing staff schedules, and monitoring kitchen finances to identify waste. Requires leadership, culinary knowledge, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, conflict resolution, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Located in Waco, Texas with a long-standing family-owned operation offering flexible schedules and competitive pay.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 or over to apply
- Minimum of five years kitchen experience
- At least one year experience in a similar capacity
- Background in high volume kitchen and catering environments
- Leadership skills
- Strong culinary knowledge
- Ability to hire and train staff
- Ability to manage inventory and sanitary standards
- Knowledge of state and local health code standards
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Financial understanding and ability to track kitchen finances
- Physical stamina for long shifts
