Job Summary
Lead kitchen helpers and volunteers while overseeing food preparation, cooking, and inventory management at the West Jordan Senior Center. Ensure full compliance with safety, cleanliness, and Health Department standards by maintaining temperature logs, proper storage, and equipment cleaning schedules. Coordinate food orders, train staff on plating techniques, and respond to participant complaints with good judgment. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly data forms to track service functions. Provide direct customer service to participants while managing a schedule of 29 hours or less per week.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of related experience in the food service industry
- Must obtain a current Food Handlers Permit prior to the start of employment
- Must be able to receive ServSafe certificate after 90 days of hire
- Must pass a required background check through fingerprinting
- Must enroll in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, crouch
- Ability to be on feet for 3-5 hours at a time
- Ability to walk extensive distances
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to climb stairs
