Job Summary
The Kitchen Assistant will handle meal prep and service on weekdays from 10am–6pm, maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area, follow established menus and food safety guidelines, monitor inventory with proper labeling and rotation, restock supplies, and report maintenance or safety concerns. The role may provide guidance to volunteers and requires passing a background check and holding a valid Food Handler's Certificate. The employer is a faith-based service provider supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking, and includes benefits such as 401k and paid holidays. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, strong communication, reliability, allergen awareness, temperature control, sanitation, proper food storage, and adherence to the organization’s Statement of Faith. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment
- Food Handler's Certificate
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, communicate effectively and professionally
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations, allergen awareness, temperature control, sanitation, and proper food storage
- Ability to attend required trainings
- Ability to sign The Spring's Statement of Faith
