Job Summary

Kitchen Assistant Lead responsible for preparing sandwiches and lunch items, testing new ingredients, and ensuring daily food production meets quality and timing requirements. Lead and collaborate with kitchen staff, set up and stock stations, manage inventory, and ensure sanitation, compliance with nutrition standards, and timely delivery of orders. Requires 1+ year cooking experience and a Food Safety Certificate; capability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and contribute to product development and process improvements. May involve occasional evening shifts and variable hours; opportunity for skill growth and advancement toward subject-matter expert status in plant-based product preparation. Responsibilities include setting up stations, preparing soups and salads for next day’s orders, managing inventory, ensuring high quality and timely delivery, collaborating with teammates, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Office)

  • Make all food orders as requested in a consistent and timely matter
  • Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare soup and salad for the next day’s orders
  • Prepare veggies and other items needed for daily orders
  • Manage inventory of food supplies
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Lead out with other team members to ensure food is produced and delivered to customers in accordance with our policies.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Ensure cleaning and dishwashing duties are completed each shift.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock management
  • Other duties as assigned
