Job Summary
Deliver food carts to communities and dining areas, then return them to the clean-up area and break down trays. Hand wash non-machine washable items like large pots and pans in a three-compartment sink while recording PPE. Disposes of trash and garbage throughout the shift, and mop floors in kitchens, walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and storerooms. Spot clean floor spills as needed and check in food, chemical, and paper orders using the FIFO method. Follow sanitation policies to minimize cross-contamination and ensure work areas are clean and properly stored. Report hazardous conditions, accidents, or incidents to the Director of Food & Nutritional Services or designee. Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and knock before entering resident rooms. Attend continuing education programs and adjust to changes or re-assignments as required.
Required Qualifications
- Responds appropriately to the special needs of each group served specific to age, language, gender, culture, religion/spirituality, economic background, education or literacy, development or cognitive disabilities, physical and developmental disabilities
- Employee aids in the orientation of new employees
- Able to complete assignments within allotted time and able to adjust to changes and re-assignments
- Follows all established safety procedures for use of personal protective equipment
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information
- Knock before entering a resident's room
- Familiar with department and facility Performance Improvement Projects
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs
