Job Summary
Plan, prepare, transport, and serve large quantities of nutritious meals meeting USDA and Early Care and Education standards. Assist the cook with programmatic paperwork, inventory management, and recordkeeping to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Support nutrition education activities for children and staff while maintaining kitchen sanitation and equipment repair. This role involves occasional local travel and work primarily in the kitchen and classrooms. Applicants must hold a valid driver's license, current C.H.R.C., and First Aid/CPR certification. ACAP supports preschool health initiatives and requires candidates to pass background checks.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience working with preschool children
- Recordkeeping skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Communicate with and relate to young children
- Work with a diverse population
- Handle frequent disruptions
- Use Microsoft Office applications and other computer software as applicable to the position
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of preschool health issues
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Must hold current C.H.R.C.
- Must pass required background checks
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have an acceptable driving record per the program
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must provide proof of insurance
- Must be insurable under agency policy
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must have close vision

- Must have peripheral vision
