Job Summary
A Language Bank Interpreter provides professional interpretation services to facilitate communication in judicial, health, and social service settings. The role requires the interpreter to faithfully convey messages in both directions between English and the target language while exhibiting professionalism and confidentiality. Strong proficiency in English and the target language, alongside a Certificate from a recognized interpreting training program, is essential. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and a background in related experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Demonstrate an advanced proficiency level in English and target language
- Ability to provide effective, accurate and impartial interpretation, both receptively and expressively of English to the target language and from the target language to English
- Certificate of successfully completed National Recognized Interpreting Training
- Acceptable criminal background check
- Must be willing to travel and work a flexible schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of related experience preferred
- Two years of college preferred
