Kinyarwanda/Kirundi

A Language Bank Interpreter provides professional interpretation services to facilitate communication between individuals with limited English proficiency and service providers in judicial proceedings, health settings, or social services venues. Responsibilities include faithfully rendering messages in consecutive, simultaneous, and sight-translation modes; maintaining confidentiality; demonstrating professionalism in appearance and conduct; adhering to interpreter ethics for medical and legal settings; and performing related duties to support Ascentria and the department. The role requires high school education or GED, advanced proficiency in English and the target language (Kinyarwanda/Kirundi), completion of a nationally recognized interpreting training, and willingness to travel with a flexible schedule. Travel may be required to various sites, and the interpreter must be dependable, reliable, and prompt while accurately conveying content and spirit of speakers across settings.
