Job Summary
Handle issues stabilizing children with kin caregivers through adoption, guardianship, custody, name changes, and public benefit advocacy. Employ methods including advice, referral, negotiation, mediation, and litigation across the five-county Metro area. Support interns and externs while preparing professional education programs for staff and volunteers. Participate in community education, task forces, and bar association committees. Required Qualifications
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
- Minimum of three years of relevant legal experience
- Excellent legal writing, analysis, advocacy, and work ethic
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to public service, participation in law school clinics or trial advocacy courses, familiarity with poverty law, previous work with low-income people, and an appreciation for diversity
- Proficiency in languages other than English, particularly Spanish
