Job Summary

Model a committed Christian faith and minister to the spiritual needs of students by integrating biblical worldviews into all curriculum and activities. Supervise children in small and large group settings while implementing daily program activities and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Respond directly to student needs, solve problems creatively, and develop positive relationships with students and families. Lead staff devotionals and prayer meetings to foster spiritual growth within the school community. Assist the KKC Director in upholding program standards and support academic and emotional development for Kindergarten through 6th grade learners.

  • Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior
  • Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God
  • Prayerfully seeks God's will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA
  • Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices
  • Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA's Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC)
  • Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC)
  • Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with children
  • Must have within 30 days of hire the following: Portable Background Check Card, HIV and blood borne pathogen training, and child CPR/First Aid
  • Office 365
  • Check in/out software
  • Ability to use internet on the work desktop, laptop, iPad and iPhone
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Able to assist Kindergarten-6th grade students with homework
  • Able to work well with multi-ethnic, culturally diverse students and parent population
  • Able to work with the public in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Maintain confidentiality and composure in a busy, open setting
  • Able to communicate clearly with children and parents
  • Display a positive, patient and professional attitude
  • Flexible and able to change direction quickly in response to a variety of situations
  • Responsible for keeping Licensure/Certification updated and current. Provide documentation to the Director
  • Follow King's Elementary KKC Standards of Dress as outlined by Director
  • Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary's List of Crimes and Negative Actions. (WAC 388-113)
  • Must agree with and support without reservation CRISTA's Statement of Faith
  • Must conduct themselves in accordance with the religious beliefs and practices that flow from that Statement of Faith and CRISTA's Christian Community Policy

Desired Qualifications

  • Pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree working with children
  • Food Handler's Permit
