Job Summary
Kindergarten Teaching Fellow at BASIS Baton Rouge Primary - Mid City Campus focuses on classroom teaching and support roles for the 2026/27 year. Responsibilities include classroom teaching (part-time and substitute), assisting with classroom management, student academic support and tutoring, proctoring assessments, coordinating homework and assignments for absent students, and supporting school programs and student services with Deans/Directors of Academic Programs. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, pursuing NES Elementary Education Assessment if needed, adherence to BASIS teaching methodologies, and a valid IVP fingerprint clearance or state background check. Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to engage with diverse constituents are essential to contribute to BASIS’s rigorous liberal arts college preparatory mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Willingness to take and pass the NES Elementary Education Assessment, if necessary
- Willingness to acquire and maintain current practices in BASIS Charter School teaching methodologies
- Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check
- Classroom teaching experience or readiness to teach part-time and as a substitute
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with diverse constituents and maintain high professional standards
