Job Summary
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in kindergarten covering literacy, language, mathematics, science, and social studies using district-approved curriculum and play-based learning. Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse developmental and language needs while implementing the Multi-Layered System of Supports framework. Establish classroom routines, supervise students during instruction, transitions, lunch, and recess, and arrange approved field experiences. Assess student growth through formal and informal measures, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress to parents and guardians. Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration to support student success. Work a 4-day week from 7:20 am to 3:50 pm with a 163-day contract.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a valid New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) PreK–3 or K–8 teaching license appropriate for assignment.
- Properly certified in all assigned content areas and grade levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development, foundational literacy and numeracy instruction, and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
- Demonstrated ability to implement differentiated instruction and support diverse student learning needs.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
- Demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, and willingness to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual Endorsement preferred
- Knowledge of instructional technology and student data systems preferred
