Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while preparing accommodations for individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology to address diverse learning styles, and conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, create a conducive classroom environment, and direct the work of assigned instructional aides. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and work cooperatively with staff to determine instructional goals. Establish professional relationships with parents, students, and community members, while participating in staff development activities and faculty meetings as required. Support the school district mission by serving as a positive role model and following all state, district, and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
