Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or applicable training/work experience; must demonstrate competency in the core subject area, and for PE roles maintain CPR/AED certification. Prior student teaching or internship experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- CPR and AED certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar nationally recognized association (to be maintained while holding the position)
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
